St. James's Palace Stakes (Group 1) Analysis/Discussion

Here are my thoughts...

Chilean - Probably outclassed. If there is some angle I'm missing, let me know.

Gabr - Finished a close second to the hyped Without Parole. Did Without Parole just have a bad day at Sandown, or is this one close in ability?

Gustav Klimit - He could only split the field in the 2,000 Guineas, then finished third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas behind Romanised. Good enough to hit the board, but it feels like a few are better.

Kings Shield - Outclassed.

Romanised - Irish 2,000 Guineas win appears impressive on video. U S Navy Flag controlled much of the race, but this one managed to mow him down with a steady outside rally. Contender.

Threeandfourpence - His best effort this year came when finishing second to Mendelssohn on synthetic. Since then, he has been disappointing. The fourth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas looks okay, although he doesn't feel like a major threat.

Tip Two Win - Should he be the favorite? He split Saxon Warrior and Masar in the 2,000 Guineas. Gustav Klimt finished sixth in the same race. Contender.

U S Navy Flag - Speed horse is known to American bettors because he competed in the Breeders' Cup. He ran well when Romanised won. The other horse just caught him. Was the pace too fast? It is hard to tell.

Without Parole - Hype is VERY strong with this one. His race two back is very good. He showed a quick burst of speed towards the end at Yarmouth. The most recent start is not as exciting though, as he barely won against Gabr at Sandown. Contender, with some question marks.

Wootton - Refused to settle in his most recent start, which probably caused him to lack punch in the lane. Two races ago, he led from start to finish and won a Group 3. He also won his two 2017 starts. Contender.

Final thoughts

seem like the most likely winners.

I'm guessing will be underlaid though. Your thoughts?

I'm not big on Euro-racing, but the TV coverage is actually quite good today.
Looks like its on until 1pm every day.
Lady Aurellio getting ready to race now.

This is a lot like the Derby, but the men wear the hats.

Go Lady! my picks

They were not too impressed with Johnny V's ride on the Lady..."what the Hell was he doing on Lady A?"

I ask that same question a lot!

I'll go with the Romanised. Think he's setting on a good one here in what I think is a wide open race. 3/4 brother to former Hong Kong Horse of the year Designs On Rome makes me think this one is getting better which each race. 5-1 on the ML feels like a good bet.

This is a good website for UK picks. It has analysis, race projector (which is a simulation of the whole race), plus pedigree and free pps. I used it today and they should do this for US racing. Just click on the race time.
