Another winner, here, Ralph.

Thank you for making the effort.

From the article...
Quote:
At one point, Harris noted that "affluent liberals tend to be really good at showing up at the marches and talking about how they love equality, [and] at putting signs in their lawns saying, 'All are welcome here.'"

"But by their actions," he continued, "What they are actually saying is, 'Yes, we believe in these ideals, just not in my backyard.'"

The New York Times may just be waking up to this notion, but the American people have been keen to it for some time — and have been showing their dissatisfaction by leaving blue states and moving to red ones at record levels.
That paragraph in the middle represents the quintessential "CAPITAL L" liberal.
Special note: As I've said many times here, our country needs BOTH LIBERALS & CONSERVATIVES.

But the whack-a-doodles on both ends of the spectrum would destroy us, given the chance.

Those are the CAPITAL Ls and Cs.

This is exactly how socialism works.

Here’s an interesting article that is a precursor to the 2020 presidential election.

Libs moving to red states and flipping them.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/ar...fy-gop/598153/

If liberals start migrating to red states.

Well...

Interesting -- and telling -- that the author of that piece neglected to delve into the reasons WHY liberals are moving to red states.

How about a One-Man Poll?

So, just to be clear...

YOU ARE PLEASED with how things are going in the United States of America?

Can you elaborate on why you like these things?
  • Higher prices on everything
  • Shortages of products
  • Businesses failing because nobody wants to work
  • Murder & crime are up
  • Suicides are up

I could add to the list for an hour, but can you explain why things things are so good for you?

Liberalism can be distilled down to one word: HYPOCRISY.

True story since zip codes were mentioned in the vid. My zip code, even though I live in an unincorporated part of my county, is the same as the city of Lake Worth -- a very liberal part of the country. When I first looked into solar panels for my home and gave my zip to solar contractors, the first question they all asked is: Do you live in Lake Worth? They asked the question because the very liberal, progressive city of Lake Worth does not allow solar energy in their city, since the people in the city buy their electricity from Lake Worth Utility -- and so the powers to be (I suppose) at this company managed to get an ordinance passed that literally outlaws solar energy in the city so that they could protect their monopoly on electricity. LW Utility isn't interested in buying excess energy back from any solar-driven home -- LW Utility only wants to sell electricity!

At any rate -- the hypocrisy here is very obvious. A very blue city who will tell you we're all destroying the planet with our large carbon footprint, etc. and will preach to the rest of us what we must do to save the planet -- but just don't save the planet in Lake Worth by going with "clean, sustainable" energy.

Interesting video, but I learned nothing new. What drives liberalism is money. They need money to stay in power. This is why, for example, rich school districts get more money than their poorer counterparts, etc., etc.

The love of money is truly the root of all kinds of evil.

The poor will always get the shaft from liberals or RINOs because the poor can never compete with either rich individuals or rich corporations -- both of whom buy expensive favors and privileges from politicians. The poor and downtrodden have no money with which to buy those favors.

Murder is DOWN in NYC under the Biden admin.

You are correct about crime in NYC. It is up

https://www1.nyc.gov/site/nypd/news/...s-october-2021

I do not drive. I use public transposition. Costs are stable in that area.
Zero percent inflation.

Shortages? I can get anything I need via Amazon. Unsure what you are talking about.

I flew to California for the Breeders cup.

Price of airline ticket round trip 300 bucks American.

Of course I have to wear a mask on public transportation.

Suicide is stupid. I will agree with you on that.

The people committing it are losing out on life.

So in general, life is pretty good.

Inflation is high on certain products certainly not EVERYTHING.

And labor shortages are good for workers who run American.

Businesses will have to adjust to the new normal.

Adjust or die.

Did I cover all your points?

I see liberals everywhere saying the same thing. And you are correct. Businesses will adjust.

And when they adjust, liberals will call them greedy for raising prices, and demand higher taxes from them.

You did.
I am amazed at your answers.

Murder is DOWN in NYC under the Biden admin.
Only NYC matters.

I do not drive. I use public transposition. Costs are stable in that area.
Zero percent inflation.

It's all about you.

Shortages? I can get anything I need via Amazon. Unsure what you are talking about.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

Try buying almost anything electronic.
Like a video card.
What used to be $70 is now $400.
But you don't need one today, so that doesn't count.

Or maybe try a shaving mirror.
Used to be $8. Now $35.

But you're fine.

I flew to California for the Breeders cup.
Price of airline ticket round trip 300 bucks American.

Way to be sensitive to your fellow Americans.

Inflation is high on certain products certainly not EVERYTHING.
Name something significant that has not increased significantly in price.

Oh, wait.
You wouldn't want those things, right?

And labor shortages are good for workers who run American.
Sure. Like the guys who are laid off because the companies they work for cannot get parts to fix washers, refrigerators, electronics, cars.

Oh, you don't care about those, right?

Suicide is stupid. I will agree with you on that.
I never said that suicide was stupid. I said that suicides were up.

Businesses will have to adjust to the new normal.
Adjust or die.

And die they are.

So in general, life is pretty good.
You know what?
I AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS ONE.

My life is actually pretty good.
Doubt that it will last more than a couple of years longer if things don't change.

But, here's the thing... I BLEED for my country!
More... I BLEED for my COUNTRYMEN!

Relatively speaking, I am experiencing a life of somewhat earned privilege.

Don't misunderstand. There is no jet in my driveway.
God delivered enough money for us to be secure, for a little while longer, anyway.

But what about those people who don't have that cushion? What about those people who are losing everything (or have already lost it)?

Do you think that THEY would say, "So, in general, life is pretty good?"

I doubt that very much.
They're the ones who are "stupidly committing suicide" because their lives have been destroyed. They're the ones who WORKED to BUILD LIVES.

But, of course, YOUR LIFE IS, in general, pretty good.
And that's what really matters.

How liberal of you.
How all-inclusive of you.

Thankfully, the majority of liberals on this board are not like you. They believe in a PRACTICAL LIBERAL NARRATIVE; one that can actually build America into a better place.

Your version will destroy it completely.

That is, they believe in things such as helping their fellow man - providing they are willing to work.

They believe in equal opportunity for all - providing one actually is willing to compete based upon their own merit.

They believe that health care should be available to everyone - providing they are not shooting heroin.

MOST IMPORTANT, THEY BELIEVE THAT THIS COUNTRY IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN THE GOOD GUYS.

I bought a couple power supplies that were about the same price as ages ago. Pretty sure it is due to the fact they are similar to PC power supplies and don't have any chips on them. I think chips are the only electronic component in short supply, driving the prices up.

Most of the supplies I buy for my business are up 30-40%. I have a small machine shop and often do repeat jobs in the same quantities as last time. I will often just duplicate a previous supply order, I can often do that with mouse clicks. Lately it has definitely caused sticker shock. A recent job I am just finishing up took $1400 in supplies, less than a year ago that same batch of supplies cost $1000.

About the only significant business supply that hasn't went up is electricity.

I buy 75k lbs of chicken a year. It’s up .39 a pound.

.49 depending on what month it is. You do the math.

Steak (we cut our own meat) is up over .60 a pound. I buy about 35k lbs a year. Do the math.

Turkey prices increased 14% this year. But the real problem is getting them. My distributor is allocating a third less this year. I have had to source them from Walmart/Aldi/Sams club plus my normal distributor. All at higher prices. I have increased my price this year to $15.99 a meal on Turkey day. I am sure we will hear about it.

I serve about 2000 meals on Thanksgiving day. It’s a crap-load of Turkey. This is just the tip of the list of shortages. Huge supply chain problems everywhere. I ordered a 2k dollar carpet cleaning machine a month ago. They cannot find enough truck drivers to deliver it. They tell me that flat out on the phone.

Here is a shot of the line to be seated at about 3p.

Just because your little bubble has yet to burst…….doesn’t mean your Biden team et al hasn’t screwed up the whole country

Contractors I have dealt with in the last 9 months or so all tell me about how much higher their costs are AND the shortages of products. Evidently, some libs here live in the comfy of their own self-made bubbles. The only exception to this rule I noticed lately was with Publix turkeys that sold this year for the same price per lb. as last year and even the year before that -- .49. I did a double take on the price! However, for the first time ever, I saw that Publix put a limit on the birds of 2 per household.
