I wonder what is really driving these online retailers to pull those items.
Smacks of political correctness.

No. Mrs. Butterworth is clearly a tool of male chauvinists waging the War on Women. Mrs. Butterworth is designed to show that a woman's place is in the kitchen, subservient to men.

I thought it was great when I was a little kid and it came in a tin can shaped like a log cabin.
Unfortunately, I have outgrown such things and now require real maple syrup at real big prices.

Or, it could be as simple as someone turning on a light switch.

And when you turn on the light switch, the cockroaches run and hide.

Canada aided the confederates during the civil war.
Close the border, eh? No more of that nonsense!
And it goes without saying no more Song of the South and Uncle Remus is out of here, including Zappa's version.
Brer Rabbit will no longer be tolerated, and my God, the tar baby is banned.

As much as I like Neils music, his politics and liberal attitude is the shits. He won't even seek citizenship in the United States, but wants to showcase his dire hatred of conservatives here. He spoke openly horrible of GWB and in most countries would have been deported if not jailed for his remarks.
He needs to stick to music and can all his other bullshit. He's been here the better of 50 years getting rich, but he won't become a US citizen and has no problems trashing the country.
