Good possibility. Matt had previously broken out of a jail and got away via a freight train.
The Northeast Corridor runs right through Plattsburgh which is about 20 miles from Dannemora.

They probably have a State system that notifies the closest towns first, then the entire State and of course NCIC is national and ultimately international. These systems can be activated in a half hour locally, and probably within an hour if they have their shit together.
I have done silver alerts and amber alerts in NCIC. Never a prison break. It's a tedious form based system much like a web page. Tab thru the form. but it has some command line stuff in it too. At least it did five years ago. I doubt it has changed much.

Not far from the truth. An Albany reporter, Fred Dicker, was a guest on a radio show in NYC and said that when Coumo visited the prison, he demanded a tour of the escape route. This was while the preliminary investigation was still in progress. So, prison officials had to drop everything just to entertain Cuomo.

Apparently they may have been sighted in Allegheny county near the PA border. There are many, many cabins in the highlands up there. I think they'll find them though. I give it to Tuesday midnight.

One of them is from Binghamton. So, it's not unrealistic, but, I find it suspicious that they're still together.
All the photos show them together. So, the smart move would be to split up.

I didn't realize the size of that Forest. It does make sense as both would probably be familiar with it, being that they're both from the western part of NYS.

If they're still running together they're dumber than I thought they were. They spread the search by separating and increase their odds of not being spotted. Purposely leave a trail.
Also, two people are easier to see than one.
