The coronavirus outbreak is being “weaponised” by the media to bring down Donald Trump when in fact it is simply a version of the “common cold”, conservative radio host and presidential medal of freedom recipient Rush Limbaugh claimed on Monday.
His comments were widely condemned: more than 80,000 people are known to have contracted the virus worldwide and 2,700 are known to have died. Authorities are struggling to cope in China, Iran, Italy and Tenerife.
Limbaugh’s conspiracy theorist take is that the outbreak is being used by the media to discredit a president who earlier this month honoured the rightwing shock jock during the State of the Union address.
“It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponised as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump,” Limbaugh said on his Monday show. “Now, I want to tell you the truth about the coronavirus. I’m dead right on this. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks.

What is the latest survival rate?
It would not be out of the realm of reasonable thinking that China purposely released it to quell riots and have a good excuse for totalitarian actions.
Trump, btw, asking Congress for emergency funding to fight it.
No denying something that spreads this quickly is not a concern, and if the fatality rate were higher, it would be a serious concern.
Why everything has to be political is beyond me.
Why common sense about life is so scarce is also beyond me.

All it takes is a few or even one hate-monger in a lab that wants to kill everyone. Certainly the media will play on it and blame Trump. That's generally the rule with any disaster.
We've offered help more than once from the beginning and were refused. China is hiding the true nature and casualties.
Rush takes a lot of issues to the extreme. Whether he truly feels it or knows it generates a bigger audience or both...who knows.
Imo, this will have little effect on the election. The Trump haters won't come or go because of it, like anything else so far.

I don't think this is going to be a major health issue, but it could trigger a recession and bear market due to panic and misinformation spread by the mainstream media.
Ultimately, that makes it an opportunity to buy when/if the panic spreads to the US markets at a higher level.

I've been importing product from China, mostly light bulbs for about 6 months now. This morning I received an email from Styeinside a Chinese company, through Amazon.
