when I knew this game was not for me

Played in a tournament, but ended up not having time to actually stay at the venue and really play that week, but was entered in already so literally rolled dice to decide which races and horses to pick.

my dice rolls far outperformed every time I actually tried studying and picking horses based on the PPs.

Study Long, Study Wrong. Doesn't seem to work for you and if pulling a rabbit out of your hat does, Well I don't see a problem.

You wanna sell those dice, fzoul?
I'd rather be lucky than good any day.

The message is obvious. You are meant to be a CRAPSHOOTER.

Do you use 4 dice for superfecta's?

Prob good for two turn races, you get all inside posts.

The people who win at this game do not throw dice. They throw races...

This game changes every few years. Hard to stay atop of. Humbling for sure. I think we are all relatively proficient in our handicapping. Translating that narrow opportunity into cash is a tough friggin nut. I feel ashamed I am into my 22nd year and have been floating on fair handicapping and luck. Only the last few years have I been concentrating on squeezing blood out of this turnip. Slowly is working. Magic dice be nice though!

craps vs handicapping

my dice rolls far outperformed every time I actually tried studying and picking horses based on the PPs.[/QUOTE]

one way to approach this game, aside from your using the total of the two
dice you are rollling, is actually take the individual number that create the
total number and box those 2 individual numbers in exactas.

that saif,if you are using the total #'s and winning, so those
might be worth seriou$$

Money - you can use each dice according to the size of the field. I see the one blue one in the front has 20 numbers. Good for the Kentucky Derby. I never used dice but years ago a friend and I decided to go to the Meadowlands and during lunch we took a deck of cards, took out a set of 10 from ace to 10, shuffled, cut and wrote down the number of the card on top. We did this 10 times , one for each race that night and pooled $2 each for each of the 10 races and when we got to the Big M we placed a $4 win bet on each corresponding race and number. At the end of the night we hit 3 races, made a profit and needless to say out performed any other wagers we made the entire night combined.
