Pens Caps Game 4 reminds me of a movie title. A very good movie actually. There Will Be Blood.

I've been surprised at how little blood is shed in the NHL playoffs in situations where it was obvious there WOULD be blood?

Everyone predicted bloodshed in the Anaheim Calgary series because of the cheap shot on Cam at end of reg season, was there really any blood?

I guess this could be different because it's Crosby, but this is a pretty important game, do you want to be the Pen player who got the 'extra 2' and caused the power play goal that secured a 1-0 Caps victory tying the series 2-2?

I hope the Pens are more worried about avenging a play that wasn't intentional than they are winning the game.

Which unintentional play are you referring too?

The Ovechkin 2-handed slash over Crosby’ elbow?

Or

Niskanen elevating his stick just before impact?

Ovechkin's slash was clearly intentional. It warranted a penalty.

Niskanen probably didn't deserve a penalty, even if Don Cherry believes what he did was intentional.

Niskanen. It was a penalty and it was called. I don't think there was any intent to injure. Pens fans and apparently that clown Cherry are the only ones I've seen that think differently.

I don't have much sympathy for the slash seeing how Sid removed a piece of a guys thumb not long ago with an uncalled slash.

Under current player safety protocols, a player must be in control of his stick at all times and is responsible for any untoward outcomes. Intent doesn’t matter. If you clip a player in the face, it’s a penalty.

There is no doubt in my mind there was intent to injure. Reminded me of the Steckel hit on Crosby years ago except this was a lot more vicious. He wants it to look innocent but it isn't.The history between the players and the fact Niskanen knowing he could possibly concuss Sid and possibly put him out a few games or even the series is the clincher. If the Caps somehow get past this series and win it all Niskanen should win the Conn Smythe Trophy. He will have been the Caps MVP.

Stick a fork in the Caps, they are done. You can't win when your best player is a winger.

Ovechkin isn’t the best player on the Caps, that nod goes to Nicklas Bäckström.

It must be humiliating losing to a team that lost their #1 goalie, their #1 defenseman, and their #1 centre.

Well the Oilers and the Ducks are even at two games apiece.
But two of the next 3 games are in Anaheim.
The loss last night puts their chances of winning the series on thin ice.
