Most recent guidance (early September) was that they were waiting until the Championship Meet (beginning end of November-early December) to start running on the turf again.

Per racing secretary Mike Lakow, they had reseeded the course, and only if the new grass grew in and took hold quickly would they start any earlier than that.

Yeah, they mentioned that the turf would be ready when the Championship Meet starts...I think around early Dec....

I don't think the Tapeta Track is going anywhere......

It should be used when main is sloppy and/or races come off the turf....

Gulfstream hit it big with this decision....

PS- Take a overhead look at GP......there is a small amount of barn space used and theres no baron land to expand it ...BUT

there's tons of parking spaces that can be converted....

Thanks for the information and update. As far as barn space is concerned, I recall years back Tom Schell lamenting how small trainers got squeezed out. I can only imagine how this issue has been compounded due to the closure of Gulfstream Park West (aka Calder).

If Gulfstream Park continues to make improvements they can be the best in the business and maybe promote other tracks to think...

its already a beautiful facility ....
