Cruz is smart. He knows that he ain't going any further up the political ladder unless Trump and Desantis allow it anyway.

I agree with this. He knows he can never be president.
I figure he hangs around until the next election and then goes back to working for a big bank at big bucks

Most of these guys have egos so big that it causes them to make stupid decisions. I could totally see Cruz running in 2024 and getting his ass whipped by Trump, simply because he really doesn't have anything else todo.
Desantis meanwhile can probably ride out his second term as governor, even if Trump runs and wins, Ronny can roll into 2028 firing on all cylinders.

I'll give Ted Cruz a pass here. I wouldn't want him as our nominee for President, but he's great for Texas. Maybe one day he can accept a position on the Supreme Court.

Imagine....
People going apeshit on twitter after Ted Cruz went on Tucker Carlson and backtracked on his "terrorist" comments. Calling TC a "propagandist."
So Tucker Carlson is a propagandist....according to deranged folks on the left.
What does that make the legacy media, which propagated a lie for 4+ years that Trump was working with the Russians or was a Russian plant or was doing the bidding of Putin. You remember Rachel Maddow, right?
Did twitter ever erupt in a flurry of condemnation for good ol' Rachel?
Or how about the time when the legacy media and social media worked together to squash the Hunter Laptop story? I mean, they couldn't bury it, obviously, but they tried so damn hard...didn't they? Like a propaganda communist government would...like China or North Korea would...
But no flurry of condemnation from the same folks who call Tucker a propagandist.
Imagine...

Like escaping to Mexico and then downplaying the virus? Stuff like that?

Cruz would be the worst Justice on a court that already has Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Thomas. That’s hard to do.
