My friend owns the 7 horse in that race with one of our trainers Penny Pearce and when they got back to the paddock he said the spill was much worse then it initially looked. This is a tough time right now for this jockey and his family. There was a report he is in a coma but I cannot substantiate that. I pray for Jose and his family.

Sad news.
Remember this next time you curse a jockey at the rail.
A game to us is life and death to them.

Very sad.

Quote:
According to Terry Meyocks, the national manager of the Jockeys' Guild, the last rider to die from injuries sustained in a race was Mario Chavez at Will Rogers Downs in October 2017. He was the 156th rider to perish from race-related injuries since the Guild began keeping such statistics in 1940.
Count at 157.

Prayers for Flores' family.

Truly a dangerous profession, Tom put it best, the danger involved makes me amazed there aren't more deaths. Prayers to Jose and his family.
