When the government runs health care
Welcome to the world of Big Brother. The British National Health Service (NHS) has determined that a small child has an incurable condition and has taken him off a breathing support system and discontinued water and nourishment.
An Italian hospital has volunteered to transport and treat the child at its expense. NHS refused to release the child and the courts upheld the decision, saying that neither the child nor the parents could leave the country.
Quote:
In recent weeks many people across the globe have been moved and outraged by the story of little Alfie Evans, whose life hung in the balance in a British hospital and whose fate was taken from the hands of his parents by the National Health Service (NHS) and the courts.
As of the time of this publication, Alfie was forcibly removed from his breathing devices but continues to breathe on his own. The NHS and the courts would not even allow Alfie to go home with his parents, and when the nation of Italy offered to fly him to a Rome hospital for experimental treatment (at their own expense) the courts told Alfie’s parents they would not be allowed to leave the country.
Even after Alfie surprised doctors with his will to live he was denied water for nearly six hours. He continued to be denied nourishment. With the denial of his exit from England altogether it was clear that the British courts and the NHS had no intention of letting Alfie live.

Apparently some Brits still have some balls, and began strongly criticizing the decision on social media. Police warned that "any offences including malicious communications" would be investigated and dealt with.

What do you expect from a country that still bows down to a "royal family".

I wouldn't use that as a knock. Americans bow down to all sorts of lowlife.
And the royal family is rarely accused of being that

"You will never convince me that this is right in any way. Never.
Because what this is… this is nothing short of real, actual, genuine evil."
From the first article. Words can't convey how I feel about this and the refusal to allow the family to leave for Italy. I really am at a loss for words...

The monarchy is just for show, expensive window dressing for the socialist commissars and bureaucrats that run the country. Even at the height of the British Empire, citizens were allowed to travel freely to other countries.

Two countries separated by a common language. The word doesn't mean the same thing over there. The British Conservatives (Tories) were the ones that initiated the push for universal health care many years ago. Brit conservatives tend to be more to the left on social issues than those in this country.

The conservatives are generally described as center-right, and they are definitely not as liberal as Labor or the Liberal Democrats. Remember what Thatcher did to the coal miners. She also had hardliners in most of the cabinet positions.
I don't think you could call them "compassionate" Liberalism's version of the Gestapo. either

For how long have they "controlled" it. Maybe "conservatives" over there are like RINOS on this side of the big pond.
And was it conservatives who came up the socialized medicine brainchild?

Remember what Reagan did to the air traffic controllers.
Tories tend to be more to the center than American conservatives on social issues and more to the right on economic issues. At least in theory.

Whatever the government is over there, it sound pretty darn authoritarian and controlling to me. The parents and their child are literally prisoners in their own country. And for what high crimes or misdemeanors? What are their horrible crimes against society -- that they want to do all they can for their child.
Whatever the the British government is over there -- whatever label you want to put on it -- it is despicable. I share Wisconsin's heartfelt sentiments. I am at once angry at the government and deeply sorrowed for the plight of the parents and their child.

They should deny nourishment to that old HAG they let parade around in a crown. There is nothing good about England.
This just shows how totally useless as a nation they are.
Hope they bomb the NHS offices take out a few of them.
Not all terrorism is a bad thing.
