As high-frequency bettors represent north of 30% in some of our domestic wagering pools and mass market handle has contracted, discussion of this market evolution and its impacts is of growing importance. This session promises to provide a thorough presentation of the issues, benefits, and drawbacks of high-frequency betting. Attendees will hear from executives of racing associations invested in CAWs, players, and critics of how high-frequency betting has evolved. This panel includes major voices from all sides of the issue and should deliver food for thought regarding the practice, how blue-collar horseplayers can coexist, and a roadmap of where it is headed.

What makes Joe Wilson a genius when a majority of racing funds are Casino generated.

There's a Casino movement going on to send horse racing out to sea.

I saw some Joe Wilson vids.

Not impressed. What am I missing here?

You aren’t missing anything. It was sarcasm. Instead of using casino generated funds to lower the takeout to competitive takeout rates (8 to 12 percent in all pools) the “enlightened ones” calling the shots in this industry prefer to use caw money to keep the industry on life support while driving all sensible players into alternate forms of gambling. Thus they use the casino revenues to fund purses until the day there are no casino revenues. At that point the enlightened ones hope to be retired and it will be somebody else’s problem.

It's a strange panel. I guess some of these guys are gonna tells us that CAW is actually good for us and grows the game. Be interesting to see how much pushback there is in the room. This panel is the primary reason I'm going. I fully support Pat Cummings and his efforts for shine a bright light on how bad this crap is.

I'm going to make a prediction.

The panel will identify and discuss several significant problems that need to be addressed, but nothing will change because the industry lacks the investment capital, political power, and resources to think in terms of decades instead of just making next year's budget.
