Have not heard of the other substance ( Paeonol ), and a brief google didn't score much info. Seems to possibly a NMDA? drug, which may put it in relation to Ketamine? Ketamine and these classes of drugs have come up in horse racing, but I don't understand them. Can recall at least one Ketamine bad test blamed on drug use of stable worker. They seem related to travel/surgical/sedation rather than Performance Enhancing. Sometimes the effects have a range or duration in the opposite direction. Hopefully nothing with Performance Inhibiting.
Also, the article(s) read as though it was surveillance discovery ( rather than an initial bad test ). Can only guess if this was a big surveillance day, or they drew his name out of a hat, or a targeted investigation.
