I am a regular listener to Steve. (Best spot of the week is always ANDY!)
I don't recall ever hearing those ads, but I sometime listen to the archives, so I speed through the commercials (
)
Steve occasionally makes a "comment" about Trump, but nothing out of line, nothing hurtful. Just opinion, which is hos right to do. I can live with that.
He does have a pinned tweet on his twitter account about ICE and backstretch workers, but again, everything in it is concerning legalities - what are the rights and what are the legal restrictions ICE. Isn't that what we advocate, being a nation of laws? That idea cuts both ways.
Nothing wrong there. I can live with differing opinions.
He is doing what he believes in and he is not infringing on my rights or offending me with his words.
I listen to ATR to hear about the bad DQ last weekend, who is coming up to a good race next week, what is new in the game.......and I get that content.
We cannot expect everyone to agree with us on everything. And maybe if we listen to level-head people with other ideas than our own, we might learn something. I certainly am reconsidering backstretch help as a specialized occupation, like rocket engineering thanks to Steve's on air talk about it a times.
Steve is a unique asset to the game.
Who cannot admire a man who gets paid to talk horses 15 hours a week, plays the races all afternoon, and travels to all the big races every year? And has a wife who doesn't bitch about it! The guy has some answer I don't have!
Try to keep the show in perspective. It is a horse racing show - the best on in the game. Delivered by a guy who probably cares more about the game than any of us. If we all had half of his enthusiasm for the game, we we be much happier and the game would be much better off.
Kudos to the voice of horse racing.
