9th U.S. Circuit Court Astounds Me

In a recent ruling the 9th Circuit "upheld a law that prohibits people in the country illegally from possessing guns." (USA Today Wed. 1/9/19) The "3 judge panel ruled unanimously that the law doesn't violate the 2nd Amendment...".

"The judges said immigrants who are armed and in the U.S. illegally could pose a threat to officers trying to remove them. They also said those immigrants are hard to monitor and have already shown they don't respect the law." (USA Today Wed. 1/9/19)

Yes, just the like one who murdered officer Singh in California.

I am flabbergasted. The 9th Circuit can come up with a ruling that is common sense. Wish they could do that with their other cases.

Who were the 3 judges on the case, and who appointed them?

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. This decision might be the first ever in the life of this court. If so, there is hope that they get something right for the second time before the life of court expires -- before the world ends.

Why was there a need to "uphold" such a law? Was there a movement afoot to propose that this law was "unconstitutional"?

Someone must have challenged the law in order for it to be sent to the 9th Circuit.

Well as a rule I am all for the American worker, with the key word being American. And those who are in the U.S. illegally are counter to Americans and legal workers. If it was up to me anyone driving drunk or in violation of CCW laws should be subject to immediate deportation and not be eligible for entree and or legal immigration for the rest of their lives. Just do not know how we became so friggin soft about everything.
