Slam dunk STUPIDITY

I couldn't care less about watching LeBron cavort in an actual game with players he is desperate to recruit for the Lakers. But I do enjoy the traditional 3-point shoot and slam dunk contest.

And since I missed it real-time this year, I looked forward all day yesterday to settling in my recliner with a box of cheezits and watching a subsequent airing I taped. So what happens 10 seconds into the subsequent airing????? An incessant crawl is sent out for the next three FREAKING hours announcing who had won those respective contests!!!!

Do the producers at TNT take stupid-pills?? Surely they realize tons of people tape to watch later, blissfully unaware of the outcomes. Seriously, how STUPID can these people BE?????

Btw, try watching ANYTHING for three hours WITHOUT reading the crawl. It's like telling yourself not to notice an itch.

Here in Pa. and probably in your area, it's all the school, church, daycare and meals on wheels cancellations for weather for the whole central Pa. area, which covers at least a half dozen counties. But at least they've figured out how to stop the scrolls during paid commercials.

Here we get the scroll for weather and the weather radar map which invariably blocks out something important when watching sports.

As to Mark's post, I've noticed the same. Used to be if you were watching a replay of something on ESPN or Tennis Channel or whatever, that score would be omitted from the scroll. But no more, and it is impossible not to see it eventually no matter how hard you try.
