Sammy, Fan Dan is right. This wasn't a secret by any means.

Actually, i even thought of hopping over to the Financial room and offer the following investment advice:

Want to make an easy and safe 10% on your money? Sure thing and with the backing of the US government. Safe and secure and a guaranteed 10% return -- with a promise of additional, safe and steady returns on your money.

The answer being ... buy Forever stamps at the PO. The then price was 50 cents each, going up to 55 cents in a day or two. Buy the 50 cent stamp and use it when that same stamp cost 55 cents.

The trouble being ... who uses snail mail anymore? Very few people, of course.

Tom...

Think about people with home businesses....
post office is still the cheapest way to go..
Also , when you get deliveries from on-line merchants....
They start off with FedEx, UPS, DHL, but all end up at post office at cheaper price for them
yes they are still needed

mike

I bought a couple hundred dollars worth of stamps right before the increase. I was aware of the increase coming. Mailed out W2 forms this week.

I have a couple thousand dollars worth of stamps. I purchased a $50 roll every month once the "forever" thing started. I figure they will last me the rest of my life.
