What if......
an attack similar to this one had happened in the US?
Under the same circumstances - mosque attacked by a white supremacist.
This thought struck me just now as I'm watching the NZ prime minister live.
She's giving a speech to her parliament on the atrocity.
Back to our country.
We all know gun control would not come into play.
Nothing ever changes there.
How would the US public react?
Conservatives?
I was heading into work a few days ago.
While on foot indoors, I passed by a family of four kneeling on a mat.
They appeared to be praying. In current times, it made perfect sense.

NZ leadership would be fools to think laws would curtail gun violence. Knee jerk reaction. I wish it would work. But it won't and you know it. It's just another feel good measure that produces no results

NZ doesn’t have a 2nd Amendment. We do, and by following the law “nothing changes” is following the law.

Watchful eye is a gross exaggeration. But yeah I read some of the board until you came to your senses again. I don’t disdain your board or its members. Is being overly dramatic your new thing? I mean maybe some I disdain but that’s normal, no?
There are definitely worse people I can be like than Ely. He’s handled himself quite well here. And we both know that bothers a lot of people here. Because as I said, differing opinions are not really wanted by some of the contributors. Not saying you don’t want differing opinions but I can name you a bunch of people who do not.

No Tom.
It's not an opinion. Article 1 clearly states who controls the purse in government. The President, because of his own ineptitude, is trying to circumvent it by abusing the National Emergencies Act.
It will ultimately fail in the courts but it's a blatant power grab by the President.
I don't know where you stand on the SoE but it's really disingenuous to attack liberals for "totalitarian" schemes and both support the President here.
