Locked

I don't usually get all jazz hands about a fast 2yr old, but that race by Locked in the 5th at Sar was HUGE.
My raw numbers have it 24pts faster than par. Will see what number he gets when the card is complete, but I'm guessing a Beyer in the high 90's.

Very impressive colt.

By my research, only the Wilton Stks, won by subsequent Alabama winner Randomized, went faster than Locked at the 1m distance this meet.

He did look good. But isn't the one mile distance at the Spa sort of tough to assign accurate figures? At least at Ellis with the 1.5 turn miles you have a lot of history to go on.....

I just hope he stays healthy. It seems like about 1/3 of the time I see a young horse have a troubled trip or make a nice move in a race, when I make a note and add them to my horse watch list they never start again. Just cleared out four of them from last winter at GP and SA.....

Absolutely.
The only other 1m race went fast for the class also, so the number came down quite a bit.
I'm now going to guess the Beyer will be much lower than I estimated.
Over-exuberance on my part

Maybe it wasn't over-exuberance on my part

Figure turned out to be close to what I thought
