The only thing that matters is whether the defense can convince the jury that TM was on top of him beating him ( witnesses say he was) and then convince the jury that Z was truly in fear of his life.
That's it. But, the prosecutor will introduce all kinds of extra crap, and so will the defense. All in an attempt to push the jury one way or another. In Ohio Z could have dismissed the jury and had the case heard by a judge or panel of judges. In that scenario I think he would walk and the trial would only be a third of the length of this current joke.
Btw, if the law was followed as suggested, there would be no trial.

I'm thinking you want them to empathize. From start to finish, sell them on Zimmerman's fear for his life and make them stand in his shoes. Stupid people will probably let any emotion cloud their efforts at interpreting the law.
Insulting the intelligence of the stupid with dopey comedy hour seems like the wrong way to bank on a stupid jury getting to an acquittal. But, what do I know. I can't see the effective "grand strategy" that you do here, but thanks for trying.
As far as his life - yeah, it's on the line. I obviously didn't mean in the sense that he's going away forever or getting capital punishment. I mean, a verdict one-way completely destroys his chances at any sort of life and a verdict the other way only compromises it. He's pretty screwed regardless, but having a jury call you a racist child murderer is going to be tough to overcome inside and outside of the pokey.

I dont know if the lawyers are just idiots or they are employing an unorthodox strategy, at any rate, i think that the high profile nature of this incident, even if Zimmerman is found not guilty of any crime, he's still going to have to pull a casey Anthony and go into hiding, even if exonerated of any wrongdoing.
I wonder if there will be riots if he's acquitted?

actually you have it backwards. The prosecutions needs to convince the jury that GZ killed TM in cold blood. ANY other scenario than that is grounds for self defense. I would suggest that just by virtue of their scuffle where GZ was injured, doubt as to guilt has been raised.

GZ being injured is huge....unless the jury figures he just injured himself, it would be hard to get a conviction.

Is anyone watching the cross-examination of this witness? This has to be helping Zimmerman big time. This girl is an absolute moron. Saying she did not take the interviews with the defense seriously... WTF? I am no expert but it seems like this girl is lying through her teeth.

I was thinking she was semi retarded the way she can't put sentences or thoughts together. Funny how she said she wasn't coming back tomorrow LOL.

LOL I know... How about when they just broke for the night and the defense said they have several more hours of questioning for her... Her response "WHAT!?!?!?!?!"... LOL... No way this jackass can be believed beyond a reasonable doubt. All she did was lie throughout this process.

I'm quite sure the defense was snickering under their breath when they saw her take the stand. Once she opened her ignorant mouth, they were without a doubt.

I just don't see it happening. Who is so invested in the outcome of this trial that riots will ensue?
Will whites or people of Latin decent riot if he is convicted? No.
Will blacks riot if he is set free? I don't see it happening...I just don't.
You do realize the gov't has been putting "anti-riot" serum in our water supply ever since Rodney King, right? Maybe you didn't know this...

I wasn't able to watch live testimony due to work.
Is the "ignorant" witness the African American woman?
