Crappy tv exposure. That is it in a nutshell. No tv, no popularity.

On the NBA...I used to be a huge NBA fan. I have not watched more than 5 mins of an NBA game in 20 years. The pro game today stinks. The NBA is the biggest "hey look at me" sport of all.
I cannot stand the constant barrage of music and sound effects during play. This tells me the fans in attendance must be stimulated by sound becuase the play on the court isn't able to accomplish that.

That should shake them up.

This has to be embarrassing for the poll designer and ESPN.
Horse Racing is now second in #1 votes to the NFL.

But I seriously doubt Roger Goodell is losing sleep over this.

While having a statistically valid number of voters from the remote corners of the web is important, the big gaffe is forgetting to turn on the button which allows for only 1 vote per computer / I.P. address.

Looks like Horse Racing will finish in the place spot for #1 votes.

Hope you had the backwheeled under the NFL, JoanieD.

Just voted again, and see the results show racing at #7...

I don't think that all true. Racing has been on tv. Infact racing a couple years back put a ton of races on tv. NBC and CBS took on a couple big races. ESPN had a ton of races on for a year and a "road to the BC" I think. Did horribly. I remember reading ESPN saying it got no ratings and they were not going to renew it for the following year. The big stations dropped the races too. No one watched. Well except for the Derby. That's always a winning ratings race.
