Well, he actually has a point
that should be addressed.
(No, I have not gone off the deep end here.)
Specifically...
Why does the government get to legislate which negative practices should be illegal?
Why is alcohol - no doubt a big killer - legal?
Why are cigarettes - also a big killer - legal?
Why are opiates - a big killer - ilegal?
Logically, next would be guns, but that is really very different.
All of these are valid questions.
The thing is that they each come with valid answers.
(Personally, I'd lump cigarettes and opiates into the same category.)
Since both cigarettes and opiates...
cause great harm and are
intentionally addictive by their producers, they should be illegal.
There should be a lifetime protection for those already with the legal cigarette addiction.
Of course, if these products can be re-designed to be non-addictive, I'd say legal is fine.
"But what about alcohol?"
Well, while it does SOMETIMES lead to addiction, I'd guess that the majority of people reading this use alcohol and are not
alcoholics.
Just my opinion.
