HRTV.com live feed
Anybody else having trouble getting a stable picture on the HRTV.com live feed today (Saturday afternoon)? HRTV also had trouble with their signal and live internet feed last Saturday on Big Cap day.

I have Dish and last week there was the problem with HRTV... however last week I also had numerous problems with other channels on Dish. I surmised that they had made some software/technical changes and some channels were impacted. It did seem to stabilize this past week.
That said, it could be that HRTV has a problem. I'm just now preparing to view HRTV and I hope HOPE that we don't have that problem repeat itself today.
Grrr.

It's 1:45 Rocky Mtn. Time...I have Dish Network, and so far the picture has been fine...hope nothing goes wrong...man, I'd be pissed off no end if I miss the big races, especially Z and RA.
Oh...Calvin is riding in this race....
PS...anyone hear there was a horrible breakdown, 1st race at SA...Google Me is the horse, jockey seems OK, and I can't recall his name. Sounds like Google me will be put down.
$hit.

how you charge people for a feed, then not be able to show live racing on big cap day then again on the biggest prep day of the year is beyond me.

Churchill Downs Strategy
Bob Evans - CEO of Churchill Downs (part owner of HRTV) - has publicly declared that they don't have to worry about distribution of the HRTV signal since they can deliver over the internet. Obviously based on today's experience with HRTV.com's live feed, they cannot do that. HRTV isn't on DirecTV because they won't cough up the money. I'm fine with having HRTV's product distributed over the internet but it has to provide reliable access on big days which is not true today.

if the problem is what i think it is, and i'm sure it is, it's fixable, and fixable relativity quickly (within a week or so), but won't be cheap. their infrastructure probably just wasn't setup to handle the type of bandwidth it's handling today. regardless thank god i gamble and have an internet wagering account

The server is probably portable to where ever the bad weather is in case of bad performance
An even better question is if you have a service that you value why not have a backup or two located so as to avoid power outages, bad weather, interruptions in service and other related problems.
