total budget for 2019 was $4.4 trillion almost a $1 trillion deficit. that is the good news, the number for 2020 will probably be $6 trillion or more, and 2021 will be closer to $8 trillion.

making up the deficit is done 2 different ways, either borrowing or printing more currency or BOTH. we as a country are very fortunate that the US dollar is the reserve currency for the world. i hope we don't ever lose that status!

i have an interest in finance. i don't know if it is true or not, i doubt anybody really knows, what drives men to do what they do with their money, anymore than we will ever know the workings of the human mind. i digress, what i wanted to say, is that the flight to the us dollar, is based on our political stability at least that is the most sensible answer i have heard.
