Wow that brought back old memories Great read, loved it ! Grew up watching the likes of Governor Skipper, Rambling Willie, Senor Skipper, Le Baron Rouge, Jambooger and Town Drunk. Me and my buddies loved Whata Baron and were big fans of Lew Williams. Great memories

Did Lew also train and or drive Lime Time? For some reason that horse rings a bell for me and of course the free legged Pats Gypsy.

One of Lew's daughters (LaVonda) has a very old website on Tripod.

Here's a video of the 1981 Provincial Cup at Windsor, won by Lime Time. That is NOT Lew in the bike.

Excellent article Pandy. Great memories. One of my first Jugs and the first time I ever saw a horse barred from betting was a Lew Williams horse on the card that day. He only won by the length of the stretch.

Great memories. Privileged to watch him at NFLD for many years. He literally seemed to carry a tiring horse down the stretch. One of the all time greats.
