That means Two Phils will surge to the lead all by himself when they hit the stretch
PM was the other horse that I saw making the same move at the same time.

Definitely a win contender on paper, though not much value. Cyclone Mischief gets in now, and makes for more traffic problems in the first turn, assuming he's gunned for position.

I'm assuming you guys got that as a certainty/confirmed...
hmm , well w/ Practical Move he could have set or attended the pace, but he was pretty likely to try to do another efficient forward trip.
Now w/ Cyclone Mischief - you have three horses w/ at least part Albaugh ownership. Jace's Road and Cyclone have some potential ensure a good pace for Angel of Empire.
regardless, is a forward horse probably part of the pace
Japan - fun idea. I don't know. Supposedly Mandarin Hero was in a lower division than Derma in Japan.
Derma had that success going right to the lead, so it is kind of silly to wonder if Contiinuar would be the pace rabbit.
Without going back again and scanning the Japanese earlier races, I read online(can't vouch accuracy) that Continuar was actually in front in 2 of 3 races where they were both entered.
Definitely expect teamwork from Albaugh and Japan (even w/different owners), but there's not a ton of wiggle room w/ derma pace and verifying Cox prized near front

Ugh. I've had quite enough of this critter spoiling my trifectas. I've dismissed Cyclone Mischief while taking Mage twice, and I'll do it again.
Looks to be between Kingsbarns and Mage on the pace projector behind seven in the early going. Only two of those ahead show late pace rating as low as this guy, and they're further up there. Even Rocket Can has a better set of early and late pace ratings.
Speed and class seem pretty average for the field, although Beyer is less generous than TFUS. Transactions imply he's classy enough, sold for $450k, in the upper third of Into Mischief progeny for 2021.
Hard to like his prospects for the distance—his Tomlinson rating is dead last in the field. Although he gets an average rating from BRIS and third from lowest from TFUS. Damsire Bernardini did well at classic distances.
You could be a little forgiving of his wide trip in the Florida Derby, but two of these beat him there, and in the previous FoY, Rocket Can placed second in front of him.
I just like other candidates more for a surprise improvement into a placing in the Derby.

cm was always my page 2 longshot if he drew in. that was solid fd performance. he raced wide and was fighting until very deep into the stretch. that race comes off the heels of a good bounce back race as well on the front end. horse is trending in the right direction. only negative i can see is possible distance and being fried early.

I had done some fancy math this past week and Cyclone qualified. Does he break for the 20 now?

Every Derby has it's late tweaks and quirks, i.e. Rich Strike getting in, but this one seems quirkier than most.
