PA, if you close an account their posts disappear?


I did ask at ONE forum in a whole 25 years to close my account, and specify that it was "user requested". That was because they liked to brag about their membership totals, and at least 3/4 of the membership wasn't there anymore. People would leave that forum all the time but are still reflected in the "membership" and I did not wish to help that particular forum "pad" their membership numbers with mine. (I believe they did it to attract vendors to sell products there, and vendors were led to think there were more members than there actually were.)

That's the only reason I can think of to ask for closing an account.... usually one would just........move on.

I'll close an account in that they can't log on anymore....AND THEY DON"T SHOW UP IN THE MEMBERS LIST when I do that.

However, I won't DELETE an account, because then all their posts will be deleted, and that can mess up the flow of existing threads. Not that that's the end of the world, but it is my policy.

As you can see, I gave into Unicorn's request, because he no longer shows up on the member roster.
