Sail like a girl
I assume there a a few sailing aficionados on this board so I’d like to speak to everyone else about Kirsten Nueschafer.
She is leading in arguably the most difficult solo-non-stop circumnavigation race on the planet. The Golden Globe Race is old school, technology after 1968 is not allowed. No Sat nav. No water makers. No boats older that the mid 80’s. Etc.
She is leading. She is an incredible sailor. I with her the best.
She is truly the best that a woman can be.

Kirsten wins!
https://www.sailmagazine.com/racing/...den-globe-race
Kirsten Neuschäfer, a South African whose life as a sailor has practically defined the word “adventure,” today won the 2022-23 Golden Globe Race, becoming the first woman to win a solo round-the-world race.
She finished in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, where she began nearly eight months and some 30,000 miles ago, crossing the line to a massive hero’s welcome. In her 36-foot Cape George cutter Minnehaha, Neuschäfer not only won, she took line honors as well—without needing the 35-hour time allowance she earned by rescuing fellow sailor Tapio Lehtinen when his boat sank south of Cape of Good Hope. She was first to round Cape Horn, and though the leg up the Atlantic saw her lead diminish, she never stopped pushing herself or her boat.

Easy boys.....one at a time, now......
Goes to show that you can always get an overwhelming response
on PA OT-G for an accomplished female over-achiever.
Geesh....not too many sailors on board, I take it.
Well done to original poster for some well deserved recognition.

Wow you guys are obsessed with this place. Who would even think to turn a thread like this into a criticism of folks here.
And yeah, I would venture a guess there aren't too many sailors here...
Why, do you think there are plenty of sailors here? Really?

Not a nautical type myself.
Credit where credit is due, though.

Congrats to her. I don't follow sailing.
But nice to see the voice of the left couldn't wait to jump in and dreail a nice tribute thread.
Too bad his elk has no respect for women and women's sports and favor cow towing to sexually confused faux people. But they don't care about people, just propaganda and depravity.

Great boat. I believe Catalina is the industry leader and has been for decades.
Back in the day I had a Catalina 30 tall rig. Never had one problem with the boat. Can’t say that about any other I’ve owned.
I have a J/32. Bought it to sail the TransPac. Illness has forced a change in plans. I guess I’ll eventually sell her.
May the winds of fortune sail you,
May you sail a gentle sea.
May it always be the other guy
Who says, ‘this drink’s on me.'”

Often when sailing with non-sailors on a light wind day, someone asks: Why is that boat going faster than most?
My reply, “Oh, that’s a J, they come with wind.” Nice, fast boats.
I wish you good health.
