The above sentiment is akin to those who said the same about the creation of the brownshirts in 1921. They need to be closely watched and opposed.

Remind me again, which political party controlled Congress and the presidency when Japanese U.S. citizens were put in interment camps and denied their rights as U.S. citizens?

What does political party have to do with it? What FDR did was shit, and what Trump's doing now is shit. Right?

Yes I live in liberal la la land here thou they are a little less "in your face" than down there. My Trump pre-election rally parties were a yuge hit but many cringed (mostly woman). I even converted a die hard communist to the Trump train.

The current administration is not interning any U.S. citizen based solely on religion, as a national security interest. The current policy is focused on foreign nationals living on foreign soil. Big difference.
Political party has everything to do with it

I had to read this a few times to grock what it is you're saying
So because FDR, a democrat, some 75 yrs ago, issued an executive order interning Japanese-Americans, which the SC at that time upheld, you're saying that no member of the democrat party will ever again have the right to lecture "us" what's moral?
Do I have it? I hope I do, cuz it's a good one
Btw Trump has in the past defended his muslim ban by comparing it positively to what FDR did, and "they named highways after him".

FanDan,
When will the left demand the removal of FDR statues and monuments? After all he was a racist and violator of U.S. citizens' constitutional rights.

You got it. Until you people demand the removal of statues and monuments to a racist, you have no moral grounds.
Also, the administration used FDR's racist violation of U.S. citizen's rights as legal precedent of presidential powers.
I see you conveniently left out the substance, the difference between the policies. One policy had been based solely on the race of U.S. citizens living on U.S. soil The current policy is based against foreign nationals on foreign soil. Again big difference.
If the current administration wants to intern U.S. citizens based solely on religion, then I will agree it is a sundae with a shit cherry on top.

Given the current trend, I doubt those named highways stay up for much longer...although...he WAS a Democrat (talking FDR here, lest you get confused)...so he has THAT going for him in terms of the name staying up...and that's a BIG plus.

I have nothing against the decision, I just hate to see Trump's puss gloating over it. I can't stand the guy, but he's my President. Couldn't stand most of them either though, so nothing new.

I second that. N&B is one of the few.
