Thanks for the info Oracle!
Although three betting favorites won at the SPA on Sunday, which is about normal. This just goes to show that the MLs at that track don't mean a heckovalot.

I feel like the beginning of the meet is always a little more chalky.

Grass with the give in it has been fair. If one has not figured out the speed bias on the dirt course yet. I can't help ya. Leave gate and run types are crushing. And, if the "buzz horse" from another country is 4/5.....you are supposed to play against. The "experts" on OTB are hilarious to listen to...….

Friday was a merry-go-round on the wet track, although Hofburg won from off the pace, sitting in back of a tight pack. Saturday seemed fast, yesterday fair.
Thought it was interesting that all horses in large fields of Friday's and Saturday's final races were covered in the pick-6. I don't play it, but Friday's paid pretty well considering how chalky the races were, supplemented by the small carryover.

...and neither favorites in the exotics. One can't just follow the money at this meet so far.

It was today, all dry now. Sunday was better than Saturday and Friday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday if you weren't in the first tier you couldn't get top prize with the exception of Hofburg, pretty much. And the MTO's cleaned up. The prices were not great Saturday but it was basically a speed track. Sunday was better but a couple of them still got away. Wow Cat had dead aim on Farrell but she stole it at a distance she had struggled holding on at. Today was more fair than its been since the rain. For a few days there it was a Bonanza.

Hey Red,
I will be watching the Morning Line Favorites less than 3-1 as they got their butts handed to them again going 1 for 6 and they are now 2 for their last 14 since yesterday!!!
Let's keep an eye on the MLF's less than 3-1 at Saratoga!!!

So through 97 races with 756 entrants for a 7.79 average starts per race
Fav win 35% at Avg 1.8/1 odds
Avg Win price of all winners 4/1
9 wins have paid > 9/1 ($20+)
Turf Fav= 36%
Dirt Fav=34%

I think Farrells win had more to do with the pace than the track, if the 1 doesn’t get scratched, I don’t think Farrell wins

I think the most biased thing right now are these 5.5 furlong sprints on the grass.

Totally agree. The track was fair on Sunday. In fact, the only time speed has been a distinct advantage was after the heavy rains on Friday.
