Belmont race 6

This might be the most contentious race ive seen in NY in awhile....there are things to like/dislike about all 10 horses...and i think you can make a case for any of them. Not going out of my way to look for races like this but it could be fun to talk about.

My pick is the 9 Pure Praise...the 2 month layup may or may not be a concern, but i do like a couple of her races and trust her to run well.
Most importantly is the price....need the 6-1 ML or better.
Make your case?

I'd wind up there too. The out-of-context contender in a field like this is hard to avoid but I am dubious about 6-1. It would not surprise me to see this one far lower as people intuitively hunt for the one that hasn't been doing the same thing as everyone else, that doesn't seem to need to lead through mild splits, and hasn't been beaten double-digit times in search of win number two. If I were using this race in a multi-race sequence, I can see myself befuddled as to whether to use Pure Praise as a single or use damn near every horse in the field.

Race # 6:

3 and up N2L, 10 wins in the group and only one runner came from more than 1/2 length off the pace. 5 of the wins were in state bred competition.

Shanghai Glory 6-1 3yr old changed barns after first and won first time for the new barn. Earned a common speed figure for win, but was against open company. Can improve and contend.

She'sakittykat 20-1 Only runner that won from off the pace. That being said it took the 4yr old 9 tries for the first win in a bad race. Out.

Perfume Lady 3-1 Won first asking against open competition. Trainer is not fooled and is put in for 1/2 the maiden price. Please claim me horse is going to get played for the trainer, but not by me. Can win, but will play against.

Ruby Warrior 8-1 Last race gives some caution, was it the competition or the mud, or both? 3 yr old can improve and really has one of the best maiden breakers in the group. Contender.

Giant Boxer 6-1 Maiden win was the best of the race, figure wise. The races after that, stakes and a turf route could be ignored. Have no idea what you have here and is a must use, Contender.

My Girl Annie 20-1 Very consistant up till the last two, one was bad and the next one was DNF. Out.

Tee Up 7-2 Improving since the trainer change, and has the best last race. Strong contender here and gets light weight status.

Ribbonite 9-2 New trainer is putting this horse where he belongs. Has seen the best competition and should improve here. The pick.

Pure Praise 6-1 Gets a trainer upgrade and that should help. Broke maiden in protected company and that is a plus. Has show the ability to chase and not really pass horses late. Underneath.

Impazible Creek 12-1 Gets a new trainer and runs the worst race of her life, not a good sign. Might surprise, but would bet against that. Out.

Dime $uper 459/459/ALL/8=$3.60

Dime $uper 459/8/ALL/ALL=$12.60
Dime $uper 8/459/ALL/ALL=$12.60
Dime $uper 8/ALL/459/ALL=$12.60

50CENT Tr'y' 459/24569/8 =$6
50CENT Tr'y' 459/8/ALL =$10.50

$20 WIN on 8

bad value:
= lugged out debut MCLM score, layoff, I'll toss here and make Todd beat me if she's sound.

= Asmussen is scary lately, but had a good trip in a forward-favoring mclm last. Betting against a big move forward. Maybe 2nd at best...

= iceberg and stopped badly

good value:
= not taking money, form is ugly but hasn't proved that she doesn't belong

= sort of like the 4 in that respect. some weird paced races.

'grudgingly include'

= taking money, maybe not 'great value' but a big player
= i'm not a big fan, but he's an 'unknown' type

kicked my butt there in terms of $

tough to find value when your 'key' is 7/5 and your 'underlay' runs second.

fun race to cap

Well, I guess its a good thing I was not using that race in such a sequence because that reads like a losing scenario regardless.

Just got back in....you were right about the price,(was forced to advance bet it anyway)...but 3-1 not really what I had in mind.May give this one another shot hopefully at same level and a better price next time.
