Stronach Group

I signed on to Betamerica to watch replays for fridays card at Pimlico (I cant use ADWs to deposit/bet due to state laws, but many here do) and was greeted w/this message:

Due to sudden and unreasonable demands by The Stronach Group (the owners of Pimlico Race Course) in an attempt to leverage the upcoming Preakness, The Stronach Group is not permitting BetAmerica to wager on their racetracks. As of now, BetAmerica is unable to offer wagers on the following tracks: Pimlico, Santa Anita, Golden Gate Fields, Gulfstream Park, Rosecroft Raceway, Meadowlands, and Monmouth Park. We are disappointed and frustrated by these unnecessary tactics from The Stronach Group – intentionally delivered to us at the beginning of Preakness Week – preventing us from offering these tracks to our customers through the BetAmerica platform.

Our partner site, TwinSpires.com, is able to take all wagers on these tracks and has a special bonus opportunity for BetAmerica players set forth below.
Register for a new TwinSpires account using the offer code BAM19 for a 100% match of your first deposit up to $50.

I am going to a racetrack to play-like always-so this doesn't affect me, but thats besides the point.

I have a degree in business and never remember being taught to block your product from the willing/paying customers (the market).

Stronach family has been to racing what rats have been to Baltimore, but worse.
Really good move the good fo racing by this family of rat bastards.

I am praying for torrential rains all weekend to KILL their handle.
A sewer back up on Saturday, and a power failure around 5:00.

Wait, Meadowlands and Monmouth too? What did I miss? (I'm sure it's something obvious)

Both The Stronach Group and CDI have management teams who negotiate track signals.

This includes tracks that they own. It also includes tracks they do not own, but who are willing to pay TSG or CDI a management fee to negotiate signal contracts on their behalf.

Fyi, TSG doesn't own Monmouth or the Meadowlands. (Last I heard, TSG was negotiating Monmouth/Meadowlands tracks signals.)

Hope I managed to type that out in a way that makes sense.

I tried to watch the Derby replay in TFUS PPs today - notice that host track will not allow it.

What is it with supposedly smart people () in denying customers access to their product????

The greed and stupidity in this game is unrivaled.

Drove over to La. Downs this morning for the simulcast, only to find that neither Pimlico nor Santa Anita were available for betting or viewing. Lots of unhappy customers today.

Here at PID unable to bet Pimlico and other Stronach tracks..

A dispute is currently preventing Presque Isle Downs customers from waging on Saturday's Preakness Stakes, the casino's general manager and vice president Kevin O'Sullivan said in a statement to Erie News Now Friday.

This week, the Stronach Group, which owns Pimlico Race Course - the site the Preakness, withdrew wagering rights to all of its racetracks, as well as the racetracks it represents, according to O'Sullivan.

He said the issue results from Churchill Downs Inc.'s stance to not allow additional computer-assisted bettors represented by Elite Turf Club into its betting pools. Churchill Downs now owns Presque Isle Downs.

"We’re disappointed and frustrated by their unnecessary tactics, which were unreasonable and intentional last-minute demands in an attempt to leverage Saturday’s Preakness Stakes," said O'Sullivan.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope Baltimore wins the lawsuit against stronach. Maybe they will sell and move out of MD

PARX!

The Parxness Stakes.
Instead of Black Eyed Susan, they can have the "Cheese Wit" Steaks.

Instead of "They're OFF!" it can be "YO! GO!"

And when the horses come onto the track, they can play the Rocky Theme!

I know it’s not exactly the same but for the Derby, the TVG website wasn’t allowed to stream the Churchill signal but it seemed like no other ADW was having this issue. TVG was encouraging people to check out NBC Sports.
