I didn't think 50 cent tri's or super's were offered on the Derby? Am I wrong about that?

Just a little advice to ponder.

Keep in mind that this is a 19 or 20 horse field, so if you have a small bankroll, just be careful playing supers, its like finding a needle in a haystack. The reason people think "supers" is because most North American races are races where a super is actually possible to hit. Don't have that mentality in this race, its a 20 horse field, its MUCH more difficult to hit a super than it is in a "normal" race. I would suggest to the smaller bankrolled players, stick to win betting and exactas. Even tris are extremely hard.

In a 20 horse field, there are 380 possible exacta combinations....so, hitting an exacta in the derby is equivalent in degree of difficulty to hitting a trifecta in an 8.5 horse field (or, something like that).

Don't bite off more than you can chew, keep your head about you and if you are betting less than 1k on the race, don't try and be a "hero" and think you're going to win 50 or 100k, you're not going to win that kind of money betting a few hundred....stick with win and exactas and yeah, you can bet more than 1 horse to win.

It may be a crazy angle but...

Intense Holiday. First time J.R., The horse Mike Smith chose Hopportunity over. Pletcher wins his first Derby!

I said in the draw thread all the way around. I was going to play this irregardless of who got these posts. And it worked out well because they landed on the two horses I liked along with the favorite. These numbers represent the number of people in my sister's family, their house number, and the number of years they've been married. Their anniversary is coming up next week. Hey, my handicapping sucks so why not go with the Beginner's Luck system? Can't do worse than I am doing now.

I promised myself this year I would not dig too deep as I have in the past because that was not working. I would go with patterns that I like. Each of my main three picks have them.

HEAVY
Win bets on 10, 15
Exbox/TriBox on 5, 10, 15

LIGHT
50-cent tris (going for the money)
WHEEL: 8,14 / 4,8,14,16,19,20 / 4,8,14,16,19,20
Highest i-Chefs and Highest DP on top.
[2x6x6 setup for 50-cents is only $20]
BOX: 4,5,14,15

My co-worker's bets:
$5 WP
1,2,3,7,9,12,13,14,17,18

$2 Ex:
5 over 1,2,3,7,9,12,13,14,17,18

That's alright. We need the Derby winner and the order of the string of horses who comes right after him.
