If you had a blank check to purchase an horse on earth actively racing?!?

If you had a blank check to purchase any horse on earth actively racing.....Who would you choose?

Consider this question as in terms of monetary upside to your investment only. (completely outside of emotional attachments or rooting interest)

-Pick only one horse!
-This can include prize money potential as well as stud potential.

Aaaaand Go!

Seems pretty simple...find the current horse with the highest annual stud earnings...I think it's Tapit for the U.S. Go with that one. Earnings are fairly stable and predictable (i.e., low present value for discounting future cash flows). Sure, another stallion could come along that's better, but why not take the obvious cashflow today. While there will likely be a star in the making, its' too difficult to project who that might be and there's a lot of risk (injury, low performing offspring, etc.). Prize money pales in comparison to stud value.

If by active you mean running vs. in stud (you can be active both ways ), I have no clue on that one. Probably take the best 3yo...you could reap the benefits of any potential future purses + good stud fees. An older, actively running horse has probably reached peak on the track earnings potential and solidified status as a solid potential stallion. Any Kentucky Derby winner will likely also have the latter already.

Actively racing was the intent. I’ll edit the initial post!

It was probably too late for you to edit, so I changed the thread title and your initial post. If I didn't get it right, let me know.

Has to be Tiz the Law, winning everything, been sturdy, bred well by another hot, young sire.

I'd go with a young turf specialist like 'Gufo'. He's a 3 y.o., 6 career starts. 4-1-1

I'd donate about 30% of that 'blank check' to several accredited horse rescues.

I'd take the rest and divide it up among 50 or so companies I see as having a long runway for strong annual compounded growth such as AMZN, CVNA, GOOG, NVDA, ZNGA, ATVI, AAPL, PYPL, SQ, V, MA, INTU, MSFT, FRPT, TRUP, SPOT, TWLO, AMT, SWKS, IDXX, TDOC, TDD, etc.

From there I'd repeat the process every few years.
