Presenting THA "Lite" for those who found the old THA stats to be too confusing. As a result, THA stats have been simplified.
The new (and only) WPC and ROI columns are the win percents and return-on-investments that the top horse has performed in the past year for associated compound conditions in this race. The expectation is that these conditions will perform as well in the future. Even so, the WPC and ROI are averages for the conditions and should be viewed as such when making a selection. For example, will a 20/1 ML top horse have a 40 win percent chance? Maybe not unless it's a Derby size field.
An ROI less than 1.01 indicates that no profitable conditions exist for this entry when it's the top rated horse. Also, be aware that abnormally high payoffs may inflate the ROI so look for a high WPC to go with that high ROI as your selection.
These stats are only good for the top rated horse whether it's the original (100.00) or the top horse resulting from scratches. Every horse in a race may have WPC and ROI stats in case it becomes the top rated horse.
