Does anyone know how Tom is doing these days? He was by far the shinning star in the Sartin group back in the 80s. He made everything so simple.

Thanks Geno

I've lost touch with him.
Phone numbers changed and everything.

I'll call Quinn and ask.

Does Quinn still write and play horses at all?

Could be even longer.

That is definitely not him. Too young.

I asked TrackMaster personnel earlier this year if they had heard from Tom since they did some business with him (MPH product) in the past 10 years. They said they had not heard in the past few years but would keep an ear out for me (since an old buddy wanted to reconnect with him).

Tom did not respond to an email I have for him, though it did not bounce.

Not that I had a personal relationship with him myself, but would also like to know how he is doing. His contribution to teaching horse players was immense.

And -- Palm Desert is the right location.

Ted

I'd be interested in Brohamer myself. Met him at a couple of Sartin Seminars. Nice man.

I edited this out, don't think it is a good idea to post that type info on this site. If PA says it is ok, we can always go back and put it in again. I know I personally wouldn't want my address and phone number posted even though I'm sure they can probably be found if somebody really wants them.

Sorry about that, just playing it safe.

Does anyone use the method he "changed to", using Quirin figures for pace and final figure?

I use this method and was curious if anyone else used it successfully.

I wish I could find a program that could generate his numbers.

I have used the idea ever since Quirrin published it [1977?]
There is a module for his MPH program that gives you the numbers from the BRIS files, but I don't think the TrackMaster on-line version has it.
I made a chart to convert the BRIS pace and speed figs to Quirrin style numbers.

I'll dig it up and post it tomorrow.

One change I found useful in using the numbers is that I use +/- 6 to call a race fast or slow.

106 - 100 FA
105
104
103
102
101
100 - 100 AA
99
98
97
96
95
94 - 100 SA

Also, I think Phantom on Tour makes his own, and maybe Thaskalos?

Thanks CJ.

It's amazing what people think is OK to post.
