Of course not surprising, but posting that photo after the replay should probably be cause for a new policy. I knew it was probably a bogus complaint because one of the things in horse racing I have faith in is the photo system, but it looks bad and even Maggie commented.

Whenever these things happen, I wish they'd post a second image, in full resolution, of just that sliver of interest (the noses and the reference line).
Not only would it end the debate, it'd also show us what the photo judge has to work with, and how much clearer it is than the compressed jpeg images.

Delta Downs R6 double DQ of 1st and 2nd . Thought it was particularly harsh on the 1st place who certainly wouldn't have been DQ'd without the moving over in the stretch. Worth a look at the head-on replay if you have access to it.

Agree.
The head on replay shown afterwards had the outside horse #6 and the #1 in close proximity to each other coming out of the turn and pretty much the entire length of the stretch.
Didn't look to me like the rider of #6 did anything wrong.
It wasn't until the rider of #7 decided to angle out that the #1 got squeezed.
Imo --
DQ #7... Justified.
DQ #6... Terrible call.

Yesterday's 3rd at Santa Anita (Keystone Field pushing Builder into the rail) looked like a clear DQ to me.

utter and complete BS on the DQ of the in the Say Florida Sandy stakes at AQU today. and I didn't even bet the race.
and actually love to see even $ fav's get taken down from 1st to 4th BUT
What happened to close quarters or racing luck in horse racing?
there is no rhyme nor reason to the decisions that stewards make over half of the time!

Between Eric Cancel and the Stewards, My Boy Tate was carrying more weight than Forego! He was carrying more weight than Harrison Bergeron...
awful call

Surprised nothing about Bob's horse being put up yesterday at SA. I saw a lot of outrage about it. I've seen worse DQs, but I still think it was a bad call as I don't think the 5 was ever getting by.

There is no universe where this horse comes down. The CHRB Stewards are getting more and more involved in the outcome of races far beyond what they're supposed to be doing. The likely did this to punish Van Dyke and probably to put Baffert up.
Want to know what the Owner thinks?

Smart move bailing on Santa Anita.I'm stuck for reasons I won't get into. This has been a terrible meeting , even worse than usual. I singled Baffert in the pick 4 and I thought it was a bad dq but I wasn't surprised

Just watched the replay and looked at the results chart. Johnny V really lodged an objection? Give me a break... I'll take BS for $500 Alex
"FOLLOWING AN INQUIRY AND AN OBJECTION LODGED BY THE RIDER ABOARD SHAAZ AGAINST DISCO BALL ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH, THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED DISCO BALL FROM FIRST TO SECOND FOR DRIFTING OUT SEVERAL PATHS, CAUSING SHAAZ TO STEADY REPEATEDLY AND COST HIM A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING."

Andy, I don't want to belabor this. Goodness knows Twitter already has. But one thing. IF he was CLEAR. Why didn't he cross in front of instead of carrying him out?
