Agree. The Gulfstream route to Roses has been a solid one the past couple decades. Definitely one to keep on the radar. FL Derby will likely tell the tale with this one.

Heard Tiz the Law is supposed to go out to the LA Derby next. Not staying in Florida.

Last I read Tagg was waffling between Fl Derby and LA. After the Holy Bull he seemed more inclined towards staying at GP since the horse ran well there. The draw for the LA race might have been the added distance this year... ? (just guessing) It's the longest of the Derby preps now.

Wonder if they'll run any other races at the distance of 1 3/16ths as a test so as not to screw it up on the big day.

...or run another at the same distance on the same card to ensure an accurate number? The dirt route for older horses that day is still listed as 9F as far as I can tell, so maybe not.

That would help, but really a 9f and a 9.5f race over a pretty standard one mile oval isn't a big deal, easy to compare.

Well, that's good to hear. Maybe the actual running of the race at the longer distance won't pose any problems on the track either then... FG is one of the tracks that I am less familiar with in terms of how different distances play out on the exact configuration.

From a derby handicapping perspective I hate that they changed the lengths of the LA races...

I think opposite. 9F is a key measuring stick for my Derby capping.

He is the best. Too bad there may not be a Derby.

If all goes well Arkansas Derby should be quite a race.

If no Derby in September then we have far bigger issues. I'm confident it will be a go by then.
Tiz looked solid. Final 3/8th decent but not lighting it up at ~38.06. Would like to see that a few lengths faster but he was in hand the last 100 yards.

Horse is the real deal, can he hold his form for another 4 months is the question.

He looked great. Pumped to mow them down then let up at the end. Saratoga connection, Funnycide’s Sackatoga Stables. So , I’m rooting for him. But c’mon, 4 months from now is an eternity in the 3 yo season. Who the heck knows ?

It sure looked like he had plenty left if anyone was game enough. It will take an odd collection of horses to beat him with trip trouble if they're lucky.
