Harmless Fun!!! I need a roll of that tape, too!

I come from military family. Pranks, stunts and practical jokes where no one gets harmed are long part of tradition. Breaks monotony, builds trust, etc.

Notice that subject of prank is laughing throughout video... no doubt she (and possibly others) have pulled something off at some earlier time & place.

If you thinks that's bad... I definitely can't disclose things us dependents did!!!

Are Those The Only Choices?

I asked what if my son was one of the guys in the video what would l say the answer is harmless fun but I would tell him that times have changed. Why was it taped? Don't do that sort of thing again its not funny and sooner or later it will get you into trouble.

Ever hear "can give it but can't take it." I can't tell you the number of times growing up that I ran into these sort of people as soon as you to onto them they run and tell the authorities. No practical jokers aren't always funny and when the tables are turned can't always be trusted.

A little help . . .

For the past few months whenever I try to open a Youtube video, I'm told that I either have Java turned off or I have an old version of Java. I've downloaded the current version half a dozen times and checked to make sure that Jave is indeed enabled. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dick

I went to a bookstore and asked the sales woman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I trust you use Firefox. After you click where it states "get the latest flash Player here" it will open another screen. Go down and click "install now" when the screen shows "click here to install ActiveX..." right click in that box and click install. It should then show a screen "do you want to install" and then click "install"

If this were your daughter would you be laughing?

Because she was laughing – do you believe she thought it was funny?

That was not funny, acceptable, or appropriate behavior in a military unit. Left alone without an appropriate response from the command, the boundries of right and wrong behavior begin to blur, discipline breaks down, and all kinds of bad shit could happen.

Thanks, Is. You sound like a person who has had experience in the military. I like your view on this. It sounds correct.

I understand that pranks can take place. But when do pranks step over the line?

I don't understand why it was videotaped. Isn't that just begging for trouble?

Bigmack,

Thanks for trying, but I use Internet Explorer. I know Firefox is popular, but I visit a lot of investing sites that require IE to fully function.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

Dick

Dick, Firefox and IE can co-exist with no problems. I use Firefox for most everything except Youbet, where I'm forced to use IE. You don't even have to make Firefox your default browser, however it really is much safer.

The Story went nowhere. Matter of fact it was taken down by Youtube and Drudge never followed up on it.

Telling that the vote was 14-2 until LSbets posted, then it went 14-8. People need to trust their convictions and stand for what they believe regardless of the consequences.

Firefox can be problematic with many investment sites that is why I use the best browser on the planet – OPERA. Ironically, I'm forced to use MicroShaft's IE on PA's board due to some weird incompatibility problems.

Dick, to answer your question – you may be confusing “Java” with “Java Script.” Despite the name they are two very different programs. YouTube uses Java Script extensively and is completely differently then Sun Microsystems Java.

In IE go to Tools>Internet options>Security>highlight Internet zone>Custom level tab>scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plugins, enable this field. Here you are not activating activeX, only browser plugins!
