The only effect it may have is drawing more illegals to the state. As someone who lived too long in California I would venture a guess there are already millions of illegals on Medi-Cal. California lower level state employees are some of the most lazy incompetent people that roam the planet. Since they are the ones vetting the Medi-Cal applications you can about guess how many ineligible people are currently enrolled.

As more and more retire, more and more will abandon rural California and live elsewhere much cheaper. Eventually businesses will see little profit in remaining there because only government assisted residents will be left. They generate little revenue. California will become a state much like Detroit now is a city. Liberal left-wing society wrecker's best dream is to see the same happen everywhere. Miserable human beings who only want to share and spread misery with everyone else. This is really what its all about.

Very well stated! This is all socialism can do. It cannot possibly elevate people from their misery. All it can do is bring working, industrious people down to the misery of the poor. This is the Left's great social justice brain fart on how to best share the wealth.
