Belmont Inner Turf Rail Settings

In the last few years they've added a fifth rail position (35ft) to go along with 0ft-9ft-18ft-27ft.

No worries, however, this meet the distances with that setting have been listed as "about" distances...sort of.
On May5 they were not called "about" distances, but on May6 & 7 and June4 & 5 & 9 they were (according to the BRIS charts).
I looked at some charts from last spring & fall they were not listed as "about" distances when the rails were at 35ft on the Inner.

Anyway, that's weird.

They are all about. When 35 ft rail setting is used, the 27 ft timing beams are used. That is why they are listed as about. Those not listed that way are oversights.

It's an issue with the poles when we move the rails to 35 feet on the Inner. CJ is probably more clear on this than me, but timing is an issue when we do this, thus we list them as about distances. I feel like it took us a little while to get there. I've discussed this on the different broadcasts when the rails are that far out.

When the Inner is at 35, we should always list them as "about" going forward.

Thanks for the info fellas.

BRIS doesn't have final figures for some of those 'about' races. Noticed that yesterday when I watched my single in the P4 in Race7 get run over by the bomb that your colleague David Aragona nailed (Runningwscissors).
He came out of an 'about' race and had no fig listed.

Hell of a pick by him
