I am afraid this might be a recurring situation at Happy Valley for a while until all this calms down in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Racing Recap
Date: September 15, 2019
Track: Sha Tin
Bias: None

Horses to watch for list:
Race 37
Hello Beauty (82) He was put on my watch list back on July 7th finishing fifth after travelling wide and came back to run second to Aerohappiness as the beaten favourite, now after the summer break Moore was forced to jump him up in class after he picked up two handicap points for that effort. In his first go against Class 2 runners (and a good field too) he was bet down as the 3-1 second betting choice behind Fat Turtle. He broke well but soon afterwards he was bumped on his left side by the favourite then bounced back into California Whip who had broke from just underneath him causing him to lose his place in line and race a little further back than where he wanted to be. Now racing mid-pack two wide just before the turn he became a little rank when Shinn on Styling City bumped Fat Turtle over into his path, this continued for at least 100 metres. After settling down he entered the stretch in the 5 path, he started to tire at the 200 metre mark drifting in and out slightly and was wrapped up soon after that by Schofield. Hopefully Moore can get him in a 85 point Class 3 race and switch to a better rider next time out.

Horse to avoid next time out:
Race 35
Simple Elegance (60) Had a perfect trip beating a very poor Class 4 field, he picks up 8 handicap points which will put him in as the high weight next time he runs.

Vulnerable favourite on the card:
Race 4 Prince Of Gems (6-5) Has eaten some money since his debut win in February going off as the chalk in all of his races with only that debut to show for it, trainer Yip has started the year pretty cold and would rather try and beat him.

Horses coming out of key races running tonight (races where multiple winners have come back next time out and won):
Race *742 (Winners: 1st, 4th & 5th, Second: 6th)
Race 2 Happy Good Guys (17-1)

Race *797 (Winners: 9th & 10th, Second: 5th) Class 3
Race 7 Star Performance (2-1)

Race *759 (Winners: 5th & 11th, Second: 7th)
Race 8 Red Elysees (13-1)

In the event of rain these horses have shown an appreciation for soft footing. (Good to Yielding or Yielding):
None

Trainer/Jockey/Horse winning combos running tonight:
Race 9 Infinity Endeavour (8-1)
Race 10 Regency Bo Bo (7-2)

Horses for courses running tonight:
None

Distance specialists running tonight:
Race 6 Goko (9-1)

Class specialists running tonight:
Race 4 Strathclyde (9-1)

Last race watch list horses running tonight:
Race 10 Regency Bo Bo (7-2) Found Class 2 and the dirt not to his liking just before the summer break, now back to Class 3 where he's found it a little more comfortable. He drew the 10 post in a field of 14, at the break he was caught with his head slightly up when the hood was removed then came out into Party Together costing him a couple lengths to the field forcing him to race a lot further back than where he prefers to be. After he was unable to find any room near the rail Mo was forced to head into the turn three wide without any cover, in the turn he made a very nice move picking up 5 lengths on the leaders in a pace that was just slightly faster than par. In the six path now he entered the stretch and continued his run but after the break and losing so much ground in the turn he was never going to catch Cordyceps who had a perfect trip on the rail sitting just behind the front runner Beauty Day who eventually finished fourth. Regency Bo Bo's handicap was held at 79 after the effort which will keep him at the level and high weight for at least one more trip.

Past watch list runners running tonight:
Race 10 Marzouq (30-1)

Key Plays:
Race 9 Winner Supreme (5-1)
Race 10 Regency Bo Bo (7-2)

Longshot:
Race 5 Casimiro (13-1)

Cool HONG KONG - SHA TIN SAT - 9/21/19

Good morning to everyone interested in the best racing product on the planet!

I’m posting my pre-race selections for another very competitive card that looks to offer some decent value. There are 10 races at Sha Tin with 7 on Turf and 3 on Dirt:
(Class top to bottom) - (1)-Class-2, (4)-Class-3, (4)-Class-4, (1)-Class-5

Post Time Race #1 – 1:00 AM SAT EST

I’ve taken a look at the M/L’s in combination with the early odds and used a unique static tote analysis to come up with the preliminary picks for each race. Later, the Live tote analysis will certainly shed more light on these and any others I might have missed.
The latest tote action (by 4 mins. to post) may reveal some things that cause final substitutions among the Top 3 picks from the Bottom 3 picks. However, the overall picks generally look fairly decent for some nice Quinella & Tri scores.
Quite a few of the races this morning look wide open!

BTW the Top 3 picks have continued to produce some nice Dutch Win returns when the combined odds produce Profit Margins higher ^ than 50%. When I can’t make a Dutch Win bet I’ll generally pay more attention to the Quinellas and perhaps even a Triple play if the combined values add up to decent return.

Good Luck if you’re playing!
