California's turn to be pathetic
The 6 to 5 morning line favorite in the 6 horse Zenyatta, allegedly a Grade I, is a horse that has lost her last 2 races by a combined 35 1/2 lengths.

...a combined 27 and a half lengths...Paradise Woods, went favored in the Kentucky Oaks against Abel Tasman...I hammered the Exacta Box with these 2 runners to no avail...Abel Tasman wins and Paradise Woods throws in a clunker...takes a vacation, returns 27AUG for G3 Torrey Pines, Del Mar, goes 30 cents on the dollar favorite and runs 6th of 7 beaten 7 lengths...
...Gotta think she has been pointed to Breeder' Cup and wasn't going to beat Abel in Churchill anyway so they just work her that day....now she has had her tightener 27Aug...Back now with 3 works in tow, 2 Bullets...
...Odds are she is cranked now and will fire and win...on her way to Breeder's Cup Saturday then...

I am not sure she will even go favored and I like Faithfully.
That being said all the older fillies are sitting out the preps, and this is what you are left with.

Seriously if u combined the fields of the Grade 1 Beldame and Ladys Secret you would have a solid grade 3.

Thursdays card averages 11 starters per race
ever since Ritvo told these guys to run their horses the cards have been solid at Del Mar and looks to be carrying over to SA.

yea, in a lot of ways its a good thing as it provides a break that is much needed. That meet sucks though.

The thing is, they should just take the break. Not have a sham meet with 5 horse fields and fair-level takeout.
If some horseman just HAS to run his horse in that time period, they can go up north.

Its been tough handicapping, it always is tricky as the del mar form doesnt always transfer and then what do you do with the Los Al horses, some of them do run well.
I got hammered Fri Sat and Sun...it was sad

Love the honesty GMB. We all take turns getting our asses kicked from time to time!
