Good read...I look for "The Boy King' to entertain and amaze us all right up to the end of his racing career.

In hindsight, CaliChrome looks rather pedestrian stacked up against the recent Super Horses.

Excellent article CJ. Very much enjoyed the read. What a horse. As long as he maintains his form and there is no indication that he isn't going to at the present time, I guess that we can all stand by hopefully for a couple to a few more spectacles like the 2015 Haskell Invitational....

Nice pieces . Note roids. are not legal now so keeping those horses appetites
Intact as they travel through these campaigns is key . Pharoah is just such a fine horse and many are enjoying everything about this triple crown winner . Thanks for keeping us up on his numbers!

The horses today are just doing what a lot of horses did when steroids were legal. There were plenty who didn't choose to use steroids. One reason was dealing with and getting the focus of high-strung animals at the peak of fitness is already difficult enough. You want to add a drug which could make it tougher?

I believe some who used them were to aid in keeping weight and muscle on them as some need more time between races , just making a point that AP has been a great horse to manage through the TC campaign and through all his travels. I absolutely agree that overuse of roids could likely make a horse difficult to manage but still we don't know how widespread the use was , We just don't know we can only speculate but I'm glad they are banned. I'm also pleased that the major tracks have spent the time and funds on keeping the track safer . Lots of changes over the years , how this affects the times . I. assume they should be slower , unless we are just breeding speedier horses. For me it says a lot about how talented AP is.

"American Pharoah's season is not yet complete", an important point because taking a look at his season it's hard to argue that he isn't improving. Another few races and a little more "asking" during the race than he has been in the last few and I think you could be looking at something like a 140 level performance.
