Does the sale start at 10:30 and is it def. open to the public and free? Is it worth going or would i be wasting my time? I will be in Lake George next week and would like to make a trip...

I believe that you just walk up as close as you can to the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion (which is outside, right?). The earlier you get there, the closer you are. I'm not sure what kind of crowd to expect and they'll probably have a reserved area for museum members.

The nice old ladies at the museum may be able to help.

Has anyone been to one of these?

Rick Pitino might attract a big crowd -- I bet otherwise the crowd is not that big. If you are going to the races that day, I don't see why not check it out. The Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion is a stones throw from the track.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is held in the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavillion. It is open to the public and admission is free. It is not an outdoor venue, however the perimeter of the pavillion is mostly glass, and the audio system plays throughout the outside area for those standing outside. Inside, there are two floors, both with seating, and general seating is upstairs. There ends up being a large amount of people who stand upstairs behind the seating area in the aisle that goes around the entire upstairs seating area.

Downstairs is reserved seating for Hall of Fame members, and HOF museum members/donors/etc. It's also reserved for invited guests, family members, etc.
