They bought it to build a new stadium. Or at least use the property as leverage to get financial help from the taxpayers to get a new stadium built. Guess they will now just sell off the Arlington Park property to developers. The end goal was to get a new taxpayer funded stadium.

The track wasn't going to survive without a casino, and Churchill was never going to allow that happen. They are the only real reason the track is gone, not the Bears.
