This is in the news again. They want the charges of race fixing dropped.

One of the four defendants filed a motion to dismiss the charges against him. This is completely normal in cases that don't plead out quickly.
I can't read the motion right now but the description I'm seeing of the jurisdictional claim looks borderline frivolous. There might be something to the evidentiary issue but it's basically impossible to say without a response from the government.

OK....great punishment idea....when they are sentenced......tell them they are in prison for a year.....but the real time will be 5 years.....teach them the importance of accuracy.

Trial is currently scheduled for June in two cases and July in the two others. Not much else to report.

Indictment against Wells dismissed. The feds lack evidence sufficient to trigger the interstate "hook." Pretty embarrassing for the AUSA out there. Don't see how the indictment gets filed without that evidence.

So is Wells back in action? Do they give him his license back?

Why would the trainer's not be named? I hope there is more to this. I'd be much more interested in which trainer's are involved here.

Some VERY interesting "talk" on the Stein Show last Saturday about this. Rumored to go very deep.
Starts at 7:55 in, to 15:33.
