USA vs Iran in the World Cup transcends sports. It is international intrigue, politics and has ramifications, at least according to Iranian Rulers far beyond a game.
But I am truly sorry my placing of this post offended your OCD tendencies.

I feel bad for the Iran players...who knows what the retaliation from the sand-sucking in-bred ayatollah scumbags?

You are correct, but that does not change the fact that this is an event with international interest and ramifications far beyond sports.
I am chill and glad to be ignored in this part of the board. Shows I made the big time. Finally.

Tom, this the the Sports section. This is a political comment which belongs in the general interest section.
BTW I totally agree.

There are no ramifications far beyond sports. Now you're just making stuff up.

Ha, I actually forgot their was a sports section here. But there really were significant threats made to the Iranian players and family if they did not "tow the line" and I would not be surprised if some of the better players were to leave for greener pastures. But the threat to their families may stop that.

Wasn't a guy murdered for scoring a goal in his own net in the World Cup?
No idea how long ago it was.
