Del Mar gets the 2024 Breeders Cup

California racing is lousy and filled with problems, but we still have the best weather, which means we continue to host the Breeders' Cup a lot.

I mean it’s great that Del Mar is hosting the Breeders Cup but honestly can we please switch up the locations from having the same ones?

I’m not complaining but I am just stating that the Breeders Cup needs to switch up the locations instead of doing it at Santa Anita, Keeneland, Del Mar and Churchill every year.

Like what about Gulfstream Park, Monmouth, Woodbine, NTRA Belmont, Sam Houston? I’m sure one of those would be nice to see for a change.

Gulfstream is way too small now, by their own doing .
Monmouth was a one time deal and had brutal weather. They are not the circuit they once were.
Woodbine runs on rubber, automatic toss. That ship has sailed.
Belmont is coming once renovations are done.
Sam Houston, LOL. You can't even bet their races unless you're on track in Texas.

Going there is one thing. But if I went there in person, I wouldn't be wasting my time playing horses! We got horses at FL.

Why not Ferndale or Turf Paradise?

Pimlico needs the Breeders Cup to keep the Preakness.

maybe it should be Del Mar and Keeneland on permanent rotation seeing how well each venue did last time around

NYRA is a disaster, wait until the next time there's a possible Triple Crown on the line - no way they can handle a large crowd anymore

they don't deserve the Breeders Cup, unless they figure out how to host it at Saratoga

Monmouth deserves another shot, they got a raw deal

Seriously, Belmont is a disaster? There a lot of ridiculous things said here but this Is right up there with the best of them. Oh and yeah Saratoga makes any sense in November. Thanks for your valuable input.

NYRA put out a press release last year saying the BC assured them they will be getting it after the Belmont renovations.

Interestingly the BC did NOT confirm this.

The BC's problems in New York are what they always were- bad attendance and bad weather. That's why they stopped going there. We will see if they actually go back. RN it looks like a Churchill-Keeneland-Santa Anita-Del Mar rotation for the moment.

That is not why they stopped going.
