Thank heavens she's gone. I hope you didn't lose too much money, but it won't compare to how much ordinary people here have lost after a disastrous tenure.
You think your country is in a bad shape. In just 44 days in power, she crashed the economy following her disastrous budget giving substantial tax cuts to the wealthiest. She then sacked her chancellor and was forced to reverse everything in her budget. The budget caused a huge hike in interest rates costing people hundreds of pounds a month, people who are already struggling with tripling of energy prices and the highest inflation rate for 40 years. Even before the unbelievable events of yesterday she led a party that got in just 3 years ago with a landslide and have now sunk to being 35 points below Labour in opinion polls.
By last night it was clear she was going. Her Home secretary resigned. There was a vote in the commons after a motion by Labour to ban fracking. She told Conservative MP's she was treating it as a vote of confidence and any Tory who supported the Labour motion would lose the Tory whip and be kicked out of the party. She then reversed that and then reversed it back again later. Her chief whip and her deputy resigned. Following the fracking debate there were literal fights outside the chamber as some senior government officials were manhandling some tory MP's who wanted to support the Labour motion into the no lobby. Her two whips then 'un-resigned'. Truss had a shouting match with her Home secretary and replaced her with a man she had previously sacked from a much lower post. Tory MP's who supported her election were then going on TV asking her to resign. It was quite clear she was totally incompetent and way out of her depth.
The only way out is for this country would be a general election but that won't happen as Tory MP's won't support it as they will be humiliated at an election.
